STUDIUM GENERALE: Credible State Budgeting Management

On Thursday, 19 September 2019, a stadium generale titled as Credible State Budgeting Management was held in Economics and Business Education Faculty (FPEB), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia UPI. This event is a collaboration event by Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkeu), Directorate General of Budget Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) in specific, and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This event is officially opened and welcomed by UPI’s Vice Chancellor for Research, Partnerships and Business (IV), Vice Chancellor on Research, Partnership and Enterprise affair, Prof. Dr. H. Didi Sukyadi, M.A. Before the main agenda, there was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing agreement among UPI and Ministry of Finance, along with FPEB UPI and Ministry of Finance.

Subsequently, the stadium generale is guided by one moderator and three speakers. They are  Mr. Syahruddin, S.E. , M.PA as moderator; Mr. Scenaider C.H. Siahaan, Ak., MSF., CIA., FRM as Loan and Grand Director of DJPPR; Ms. Riestanti, S.E., M.Comm and Dr. A. Jajang W Mahri, M.Si. as Head of Study program of Islamic Economics and Finance, FPEB UPI.

Mr. Scenaider discussed about why State needs financing and debt. He stressed that debt financing is necessary in building and accelerating nation’s economy. While on Mrs. Riestanti’s session, she was uttering about Project Financing through the issuance of Sharia Government Bonds Securities (Directorate of Sharia Financing) which is Sukuk as the main topic. Lastly, Dr. A. Jajang as the panelist was discoursing about Debt and Nation’s Independence, corresponding to the previous talks.

To sum up, with this event, it is expected that there would be a future further collaborations between Ministry of Finance as government institution  and UPI as education institution and the outcome of the event would enrich the participants a broaden knowledge of financing and budgeting.
