The Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Education (called FPTI) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) continues to broaden its contribution as a leading centre for vocational education development at the global level through the organisation of the GREAT Summer Programme 2025, themed “Greening TVET for Resilience, Empowerment, and AI Transformation.”
This international programme has received official endorsement from UNESCO-UNEVOC, the official UNESCO centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), which supports the strengthening of vocational education systems and workforce skills training for inclusive and sustainable economic development.
Dr. Eng. Agus Setiawan, M.Si., Dean of FPTI UPI, who also serves as Indonesia’s UNEVOC Centre Coordinator and Vice President of the Regional Association for Vocational Teacher Education in Asia (RAVTE), emphasised that this initiative is a tangible demonstration of FPTI UPI’s commitment to fostering international collaboration in the TVET sector.
Dr. Mustika Nuramalia Handayani, Chairperson of the GREAT Summer Program 2025 and Vice Dean for Student Affairs at FPTI, added that the programme has been carefully designed in line with the faculty’s dedication to advancing green curriculum and promoting the greening of TVET in Indonesia.
“Through this programme, we aim to empower both Indonesian and international students — the young generation — to be better prepared for the challenges of the green transition and AI-driven digital transformation, while instilling sustainability values in curriculum design and learning practices,” she said.
The GREAT Summer Program 2025 will take place from 24 July to 20 August 2025 in a blended learning format, comprising three weeks of online sessions (every Thursday) and one week of on-site activities at the UPI Bandung campus, including a field trip and a cultural immersion experience.
