
Bandung, August, 8 2025 – As part of its efforts to expand its global network and enhance the quality of higher education, the Law Study Program of the Faculty of Social Sciences Education at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) welcomed an honorary visit from representatives of the Faculty of Law, Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam, on Friday (8/8/2025). This visit marks a strong signal of both institutions’ commitment to forging a strategic partnership in the future.
The delegation from Vietnam was led by Mr. Chau Bao Anh, LLM, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law at Ton Duc Thang University. They were warmly received by the leadership of the UPI Law Study Program, including Mr. Dwi Iman Muthaqin, S.H., M.H., Head of the Law Study Program, Mr. Dadi Mulyadi Nugraha, M.Pd., Student Affairs Coordinator of the Law Study Program, and Agung Setiawan, the President of the Law Students Association. The friendly and productive atmosphere of the meeting laid the foundation for future discussions.
This meeting was not just a courtesy visit but a deep discussion about curriculum harmonization between the two institutions. Harmonizing curricula is a crucial first step in ensuring academic standards’ relevance and comparability, thus facilitating a more effective exchange of knowledge and experience.
Furthermore, both parties seriously discussed various concrete forms of future collaboration. Key points discussed included:
- Faculty Exchange Program: This program is expected to enrich teaching and research perspectives at both universities, enabling the transfer of innovative knowledge and methodologies.
- Student Exchange Program: The student exchange initiative will provide opportunities for law students to experience academic and cultural environments in another country, broaden their horizons, and build global networks.
- Joint Research: Collaborative research will allow both institutions to combine expertise and resources to address contemporary legal issues at both regional and global levels.
Overall, this collaboration aims to strengthen the academic competencies of both institutions and emphasizes the importance of international partnerships in addressing increasingly complex global challenges.
The visit and exploration of collaboration between UPI’s Law Study Program and the Faculty of Law at Ton Duc Thang University is directly aligned with the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
