Bandung, November 11, 2025 — Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening research and global collaboration through the organization of The 5th International Symposium on Materials and Electrical Engineering (ISMEE) 2025. The event was jointly hosted by the Study Programs of Electrical Engineering Education, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation and Robotics Engineering Education, and Renewable Energy Engineering under the Faculty of Technology and Industry Education (FPTI). Held at UPI’s New Graduate School Auditorium, the symposium served as a strategic hub for advancing innovation in materials technology, electronics, and sustainable clean-energy solutions.
Carrying the theme “Advanced Materials and Electronics for Clean Energy Sustainability,” ISMEE 2025 provided an international academic platform connecting scholars, researchers, students, and industry practitioners from various countries. The forum encouraged knowledge exchange and research collaboration to accelerate the development of green technologies and future energy systems.
This year’s symposium featured two keynote speakers from leading Southeast Asian institutions:
- Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rifqi MD Zain (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia)
- Prof. Ir. Syarif Hidayat, M.T., Ph.D. (Institut Teknologi Bandung)
Both speakers offered insights on emerging directions in advanced materials research, electronics, and opportunities for cross-country academic collaboration supporting the global transition toward clean energy.

The Organizing Chair, Prof. Dr. Budi Mulyanti, M.Si., emphasized that ISMEE is part of UPI’s strategic effort to enhance its global academic reputation. ISMEE 2025 recorded over 80 scientific papers presented, with manuscripts targeted for publication in IEEE Xplore, a Scopus-indexed proceedings platform. This achievement highlights FPTI UPI’s concrete contribution to strengthening Indonesia’s role in clean-energy research, advanced material technologies, and sustainable engineering education.
The symposium directly supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
- SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
- SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- SDG 13 – Climate Action
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
As a faculty focused on applied technology, FPTI UPI continues to promote multidisciplinary research and international collaboration aligned with global needs. Through initiatives like ISMEE, UPI reinforces its role in advancing scientific knowledge, expanding clean-energy innovation, and building an adaptive, world-class academic ecosystem. (Contributor)
