The Business Education Student Association (BESA) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) organized the Campus Academic Ceremony (CAC) 2025 as the opening series of the Business Education Campus Program (BECP) for the 2025 intake of Business Education students. The event took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Business Education (Fakultas Pendidikan Ekonomi dan Bsinis/FPEB) UPI on Monday (Sept. 15).
Carrying the theme “Empowering Innovative Edupreneurs with the Spirit of Culture and Collaboration,” CAC 2025 aimed to provide new students with a strong foundation in academic culture, the university’s learning system, and the professional values that will guide them throughout their academic journey at UPI.
The ceremony was officially opened by the Dean of FPEB UPI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Ratih Hurriyati, M.P., together with the Head of the Business Education Study Program, Dr. Puspo Dewi Dirgantari, S.Pd., M.T., M.M. In her remarks, Prof. Ratih emphasized the importance of preparing students to adapt to academic culture and the professional world from the very beginning of their studies.
The program continued with keynote lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. H. Agus Rahayu, M.P. and Prof. Dr. Hj. B. Lena Nuryanti S., M.Pd. Both speakers highlighted the importance of innovation, collaboration, and the development of an edupreneurial mindset as essential competencies for Business Education students in responding to the evolving landscape of education and industry.
Meanwhile, Dr. Puspo Dewi Dirgantari presented the vision and mission of UPI, FPEB, and the Business Education Study Program, emphasizing the need for students to understand academic culture from the outset.
“Students must understand academic culture early on so they can grow professionally and ethically,” she stated.
Further sessions introduced students to the learning system, academic services, and student policies, delivered by Dr. Masharyono, A.P., S.Pd., M.M. In addition, students received guidance on professional ethics, discipline, grooming, and dress code from Ratu Dintha IZFS, S.Pd., M.M., reinforcing the importance of professionalism in academic life.
The CAC 2025 series was enriched with interactive sessions and an introduction to the Business Education Student Association (BESA), providing students with opportunities to develop their interests, talents, and leadership skills through student organization involvement.
Through Campus Academic Ceremony (CAC) 2025, new students are expected to develop academic readiness, understand the structure of university learning, and cultivate professional, collaborative, and innovative attitudes throughout their campus journey at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Furthermore, this initiative contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by strengthening students’ academic readiness and professional competencies, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by fostering entrepreneurial and professional skills relevant to future careers. (Ajeng)
