
Bandung, August 10, 2025 – The Faculty of Language and Literature Education (FPBS) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) successfully hosted The 9th International Conference on Language, Literature, Culture, and Education (ICOLLITE 9) on Wednesday (August 6, 2025). This international academic forum brought together scholars, researchers, lecturers, and education practitioners from various countries to discuss the present and future of language, literature, culture, and education in the context of digital transformation.
Carrying the theme “Digital Transformation in Language, Literature, Culture, and Education”, ICOLLITE 9 encouraged the exchange of ideas, research findings, and innovative strategies to address the challenges of the digital era, both in theoretical and practical dimensions.
As an annual international conference, ICOLLITE 9 featured scientific paper presentations, parallel sessions, keynote speeches, and interdisciplinary panel discussions. Hundreds of participants joined the hybrid event—attending either in person at UPI’s Bandung campus or online from around the world. The keynote speakers were prominent experts from renowned universities and institutions worldwide.
The conference covered a broad range of topics, including:
- Language and Literacy Studies – language acquisition, psycholinguistics, preservation of local languages, discourse studies, and more.
- Media and Communication Studies – social media, media ideology, digital communication, and multimodality.
- Educational Studies – teacher professional development, language curriculum, intercultural education, and learning assessment.
- Literature and Cultural Studies – children’s literature, folklore, digital literature, popular culture, and digital humanities.
- Innovative Learning and Learner Autonomy – educational technology, Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL), reflective learning, and self-directed learning.


“ICOLLITE is more than just a scientific forum; it is a shared space for creating tangible solutions to contemporary challenges. The success of ICOLLITE 9 reinforces UPI’s position as a center for the advancement of knowledge and educational innovation with global competitiveness, while also demonstrating the university’s strong commitment to expanding international academic collaboration in the era of digital transformation.
